As 2016 is coming to a close, I’ve been reflecting on what an incredible year I’ve had and how much Airplanes and Avocados has grown. This year has taken me some incredible places and introduced me to some amazing people. I can’t thank all of you enough for helping me grow A&A to what it’s become. I’m planning to continue this energy into 2017 and make each coming yet better than the last.
Now let’s take a quick look back at what 2016 meant to Airplanes and Avocados!
I rang in the new year in the stunning mountains of Lake Louise, Alberta.
I was also still living in Ottawa at the beginning of the year, so I spent a lot of time exploring the Byward market, skating on the Rideau canal, and enjoying our nation’s capital.
After I moved back home over the summer, my boyfriend and I took the plunge (literally!) and became PADI certified scuba divers.
Shortly after becoming PADI Open Water divers we headed off to Hawaii for one of my favourite trips to date. We were able to explore so much of Oahu with Dan from Circle Island Tour in 24 and meet up with some fellow bloggers; Reid and Maryrose from Wanderlustyle.
2016 also saw the beginning of the Airplanes and Avocados YouTube channel. I managed to bring you guys only two videos this year, but I’m hoping to make it a priority in 2017.
My last trip of this year was a cruise to the Bahamas just before school started.
After that I started my semester at a brand new university.
The end of this year has been crazy busy, as I’ve had a lot of new opportunities come up, including speaking at the upcoming Women in Travel Summit in April in Milwaukee. (Which you can buy tickets for HERE).
So I’ve taken a step back to work on these new projects and used this time as a chance to explore my hometown of Toronto.
