While most of Canada seems to have forgotten the spring season (WHY IS IT STILL SNOWING IN APRIL?!), Vancouver is enjoying beautiful sunny days with daily temperatures averaging 15 degrees Celsius.
Sunshine and warm weather means that it is officially patio season on the west coast; which means it’s socially acceptable to day drink again! My personal favorite time to drink if I’ve being honest – what beats the sun on your skin and a margarita in your hand? It’s no wonder that they call it happy hour.
Happy hour in Vancouver especially is a double win because eating out on Canada’s west can be very, very expensive so happy hour gives everyone the chance to enjoy those boujée restaurants that would otherwise be waaaaay out of budget.
Now I was only born in 1996, so I never had to live through a Vancouver without a happy hour (thanks mom and dad!), but it was only in four years ago in 2014 that the British Columbia government finally came around to the idea of boozing in the afternoon and made it legal to serve discounted liquor in restaurants.
